A door opened with a 'click' and a platform heel appeared into the empty room, then another shoe, and finally a petite framed girl, looking similar to a pixie was completely in the empty house. Mentioned girl walked into what appeared to be a darkened living room, she flipped on a switch and a light came on.
The young girl smiled and let out a soft sigh, "Home at last. Ugh today was too busy for my liking," she rubbed her throat and grabbed the water bottle from her bag. She took a sip as she sat down on the couch. "Gosh, I love singing, but I need to take a break or my voice is going to be nonexistent by the end of the week," Jessie sighed and flicked on the Television. She breezed passed the news, knowing that it was just going to be the media's twisted truth about the mutants and their evil plan to destroy the world.
She didn't buy into it for a second. Jessica simply knew too many mutants who just like normal human beings, they were kindhearted, helpful, and well-mannered. Yes, there were bad mutants, but that was because they chose to be that way.
The 18-year old finally found a channel that she took interest in, the History Channel was showing footage of World War II. "Finally something worth watching," she muttered to herself and relaxed into the couch. Jessica looked down to see that her shoes were still on and kicked them off, not paying attention to where they landed.

The sidewalk seemed to slip by with unrealistic speed as the boy made his way down the street. He was in one of his moods, and was hardly ready to confront his agent yet again about the deadlines for the new game he was designing. The last thing that Jason Connors needed was pressure, and that's what his dumb agent always gave him. I'm just going to take a break. Jason told himself, glancing up and starting to find that he had unconsciously walked to his friend Jessica's house. Shrugging to himself, Jason made his way to the front door. He wasn't surprised to find that it was unlocked - Jessie could be pretty careless.
"Anyone home?" Jason called out, opening the door and walking into the living room. He glanced around but knew he wouldn't find anyone - Jessie's parents weren't home in the afternoons. Walking up the staircase, he walked up to Jessica's bedroom door and knocked on it, not wanting to surprise her any more than he already would by showing up randomly in her house.

Jessie looked over the edge of the couch to see that Jason, a pretty good friend that she met at a town get together, was walking up to her room. She openly laughed and called him into the appropriate room, "Jazz I know that you would just love to go snooping around my room but I'm in the living room!" Her voice was loud enough for it to be heard in the attic, so she was sure that he had heard her. Jason was a pretty decent guy, a bit of an airhead at times, always stressing over deadlines for his latest game. It was, however, completely understandable as to why he would be freaking out. Those were after all extremely important dates and were part of his college requirements. She reverted her attention back to the TV, and called to Jazz once again, "And on your way back down, could you lock the door?"

Jason could hear Jessie's voice from the living room. He walked back down the stairs and locked the front door obediently. He made his way into the room where his friend sat watching TV, one arm thrown over the edge of the sofa.
"Hey," he said, waving in a casual way, "Sorry about that. I didn't hear the TV." He shrugged sheepishly and sat down on the chair across from her.

Jessica looked at Jason with mischief in her eyes, "Right, you just wanted to get into my room," she teased playfully. With her green eyes on her company, she pondered his business here, then realized that if she wanted to know, she should ask. "So Jazz, what brings you to my humble home on this wonderful afternoon?" she asked, her voice friendly. Then an idea of why he was here hit her like a brick wall, "Oh," Jessie blurted out with her new discovery. "More deadlines that are nearing?" That was an obvious question, he would always get away from everything before a large deadline was nearing. Jessica turned the volume of the television down so they could communicate easier. Her eyes were roaming then settled on Jason, awaiting an answer that was going to have an obvious answer.

Jason blushed slightly at her comment concerning her room.
"It's not like I haven't been in your room before, Jessie." He said, rubbing his neck nervously. He didn't like when people made fun of him - especially when it had something to do with being dirty or something of that nature, since Jason was actually relatively naive.
"Anyways," he sighed, "Yeah... my agent keeps nagging me about designing the next portal for Storm Winds and I keep telling him that it will take longer than a week. Geez, the guy never listens." Jazz sighed, frustrated.

Jessie smirked as she saw the blush creep onto her friend's cheeks.
It was true, there were many of occasions where Jazz was in her room. They would stay in there and game until the sun came up. She enjoyed the company of the innocent game designer. She took off her hat momentarily to readjust it's position so her face was better visible to her pal. Jessica loved how innocent that Jason was because she could joke around about certain things and he would get as red as a rose in the early summer. That, and she didn't have to worry about him being a chauvinistic jerk.
"That's not fair," she replied, thoughts whirling in her head as to how Jason could have his agent give him some time. "Has he ever designed a game? Or is he just one of those 'I never did this but I'm going to judge, and critique you on everything you do' type of person?" Jessie asked, doing her best male voice when she mention the type of person that Jazz's agent was.

Jazz smiled slightly at Jessie's ever-humorous attitude.
"He's worked in the business," Jason replied, "But he hasn't actually designed a game of his own. At least not one that's made it anywhere." Shrugging, the boy leaned back against the chair and stared at the TV screen.
"Sometimes I wish I could just hand the job off to someone else." He mused.

With a gasp of mock surprise, Jessica rolled her eyes. "Well that's a surprise. I hate big wigs who boss the little man around, when he himself hasn't done diddly squat to get where he is," she stated with her tone having that matter-of-fact air to it.
She swung her feet off of the couch and onto the floor and looked down for a second. "Yeah, I know what that's like... My throat is about dead from all the singing I've been doing," she said, her voice a bit off it's normal pitch.
Jessie looked over at Jason, who's attention was on the television. "So, what do yo want to do? My mom isn't going to be home tonight, so I have the house to myself," she asked, hoping that he would say something that would be enjoyable for the both of them.

Jazz glanced over at his friend and smiled.
"Well I thought we could do some harmonizing, since my guitar is still in the shop and I haven't had any chance to play recently. But if your voice is tired that's fine." He said, leaning forward to await her reply. He'd really been hoping she would let him play her guitar, since it felt sort of sad not to be able to play his own for two weeks.

Jessica gave a warm grin in return of Jazz's.
"If you want to you can play it, Jazz. You're a friend, you don't have to ask, just give me a head's up," she told him, her voice calm and cool. In all honesty, when it came to friends and touching her things, she really didn't care. Jessica did choose her friends wisely. She would pick the ones who were mature, responsible and fun. Jason was one of the more trustworthy people in her life. "Here I'll go get it for you!" she bounced off of the couch and skipped up the stairs and into her room. Once up there she looked in the corner of her room at where her musical equipment was located and grabbed the guitar carefully. She walked back down the steps and presented it to her friend.

Jason smiled as he accepted the guitar. It was a Gibson, which was a great brand, and it had a nice smoked look to it. Strumming the strings, Jason listened to their warm sound with a pleased smile on his face.
"I swear, if I didn't love my Luthrie as much as I do, I'd have to get a twin for Gibby here," he said, using the funny nickname for Jessie's guitar. He had a weird habit of naming his guitars, simply because it made them seem more special. His fingers flipped back and forth as he began strumming, his fingers picking individual strings and drifting over the chord alternatively, creating a warm, sweet sound.

Jessica chuckled as Jason accepted the guitar and began to strum the strings. From a musician's standpoint Jazz could play the instrument, very well.
She adored listening to her friend play the guitar. It was one of her favorite things to do when Jason came over for whatever reason. She leaned against the entertainment stand and just listened as his fingers danced along the neck of her Gibson. The sound that was being produced was marvelous and Jessica watched how smoothly his fingers were gliding, hitting each chord and string with perfection.
She joined in with a soft hum. Jessie let the sound come to her, she didn't force it. She found the rhythm quickly and found a perfect place to take her hum to an 'oh'. The sound came out silky smooth and relaxed. She was doing this for fun, not for a group of people who were critiquing her every movement.
Jessie stopped for a breath and an idea came to her. "You know Jazz, we should start a band one of these days," she stated randomly.

Jazz looked up at his friend with a slight smile.
"You think?" He mused. "I always thought I didn't have the look of a band guy. More like... a band geek." He said with a smirk on his face. Plucking a few strings, he played a boom chuck pattern and added a soft hum of his own, harmonizing with the notes that Jessie had sang.

"Sure, why not? We've got nothing to lose," she chuckled softly. "And besides, the geek look is starting to come in," more laughter was followed by Jessica's voice drifting back into harmony with Jason's playing. She really enjoyed the thought of her and Jazz in a band. With his guitar talents and her vocal talents they could have a start. "But," she broke from her humming and oh-ing, and gave her words a half musical sound to them, a rhythm with Jason's playing. "...we will need someone to play drums. That is the basic for any good band," Jessica stated in her half song voice.
After her speech she started to tap her foot to the basic four measure beat. Her voice built it volume, then would decrescendo into a piano-soft volume.
