Crucible looked from Tails to Daman.
"Well, I know a good spot for a picnic, if you like," he said, looking a bit more relaxed. Daman was glad that he seemed to have forgotten whatever was troubling him. He looked at Tails, a smile on his face.
"How does that sound?" He asked.

Tails was glad that Crucible's suggestion didn't involve any other mutants. It also didn't hurt that he enjoyed picnics, they were always so peaceful. "That sounds great" he replied, a bright smile on his face.

Crucible was glad that his suggestion seemed acceptable.
"Alright," Daman said cheerfully. "Now we just need food."
"Don't worry about that," Crucible said at once. "I know some people in the kitchen that will hook us up." His mouth twitched upwards slightly in what might have been a smile.

Tails was excited for the picnic. He was also curious as to what food Crucible would get for them. "So should we set off?" he asked, his voice quiet.

Crucible nodded. Daman looked at Tails, glad to see that he was excited for the event. Then he turned to the other boy and smiled.
"Lead the way," he prompted cheerful. Crucible glanced at him and then dipped his head slightly. He turned and led them through the Hideout towards the Kitchens. There were several cooks on duty, and one of them turned at his appearance.
"Need a basket?" The girl smiled and pulled out an empty whicker picnic basket. She began rummaging in some cupboards.
"What sort of food do you feel like today?" She asked cheerfully, glancing around a cabinet door at them.

Tails followed Crucible through the halls, staying as close to Daman as possible. It seemed like all the mutants that weren't on missions were wandering the halls, and he hated it. He could feel everyone staring at him like they usually did, he was the mysteriou little boy who rarely spoke. He wished that they would just ignore him and mind their business, but he doubted it would ever happen. He was thankful when they reached the kitchen and escaped the crowded halls.
He looked up as one of the cooks spoke, before looking down at his feet again. He unconciously shifted so that he was more behind Daman then anything.

Crucible considered what would be good.
"I'm rather fond of turkey sandwiches. Sound good?" He looked at Daman and Tails, his eyebrows raised expectantly. Daman shrugged.
"Sounds good to me. Tails?" He turned to the younger mutant and smiled.

Tails was still looking at his feet, ears twitching as he listened to them speak. He noticed Daman turning to face him and looked up at him. He returned Daman's smile with one of his own and nodded his agreement.

"Alright then." The girl began pulling things from the stores and putting them into the basket. She hummed happily while she worked, her eyes shining. She closed the basket and then offered it to Crucible, who accepted it.
"Enjoy," she said cheerfully, smiling at the other two.

Tails sent a small shy smile in the girls direction as a siletn thanks. He looked back to Daman, eager to get outside and away from the people. "Can we go now?" he asked, his voice almost a whisper.

Daman nodded in response. Crucible turned and began to make his way back into the halls, towards the ravine entrance. He walked out into the series of tunnels that led along the riverbed. These led to a small clearing walled round by stone. In the middle of that clearing sat a little patch of grass. It was the most peaceful place Crucible had found, and he had come here many times in the past. Setting the basket down in the center of the grass patch, he turned and smiled at Daman and Tails.

Tails smiled, happy to be leaving the crowded area. He followed Crucible as he led the way to where they were having the picnic. He didn;t recognize the tunnels they were using, which wasn't that unusual, he didn't go many places in the order. He looked around when they came out into the clearing, it seemed so calm and secluded, he liked it. He then noticed Crucible's smile and flashed him one of his own.

Crucible felt at ease almost immediately. This place was sort of enchanted, he supposed. Here he could feel again without the pain of remembering. Here he could be himself, if only for a time. Sitting down on the grass, Crucible began setting out the things for the meal. Daman smiled and patted Tails's shoulder, then walked forward to join the other boy.

Tails smiled when Daman patted his soldier, he was always thankful for the rare contact with Daman. He followed Daman towards where Crucible was sitting. He settled on the grass between Daman and Crucible, watching as Crucible set out the food.

Daman scooped up a piece of bread and began layering it with turkey, lettuce, and tomato. Crucible pulled out a few water bottles and a keg of lemonade with some cups. He set them in front of the other two mutants and then sat back and sighed happily.
"This is the first time I've ever had company here," he said with a pleased smile. Daman looked at him, surprised at the difference he saw in the boy's face. Instead of dead eyes and a monotonous voice, he sounded relaxed, and his expression was peaceful.
