Red Rock looked as welcoming as always, tucked into the little crook of a series of rises. The wooden walls of the building contrasted warmly with the bright red Arizona sand, giving off a rustic feeling. Locket made her way into the restaurant, aware that the scene had become increasingly familiar over the years. She'd known Sarah for a long time, and she was one of the few people living a normal life who knew anything about Locket's true nature. Most humans thought of her as a local UPS worker named Katherine. There were only two "normal" people that knew differently.

Making her way towards the hostess stand, Locket smiled at Allison. The hostess smiled back and took the mutant to her favorite table right away. The two chatted cheerfully until Allison had to go seat someone else, too. Sitting with her back against the booth seat, Locket felt very comfortable. She checked her watch. Good. She was early. That meant that Liam would be along shortly. The thought of her boyfriend made Locket's stomach clench in anxiety, but at the same time her heart fluttered with happiness. She loved Liam more than she had ever imagined she could. But it was hard to get over the fact that he was a soldier - a hunter - her literal enemy. It had been difficult to accept that fact and put her allegiances aside so that she could be with him. But as long as they didn't talk about her "work" for the Order or his "work" hunting her kind, Locket was able to relax and just be fine with loving him. She'd already read Romeo and Juliet five times and wished she could stop so that she wouldn't have to worry about tragic endings anymore.

A sleek black '67 Chevy Impala pulled into the familar parking lot. A tall boy with red hair stepped out of the car and headed for the entrance of the Red Rock. Liam opened the door and smiled at Allison, they had become somewhat friends over the months he had been coming there with Locket.

He followed Allison to his and Merissa's usual table. He was happy to see her waiting for him. "Hey beautiful" he said, sliding into the booth across from her.

Locket turned when she heard Allison talking. When she spotted Liam, Locket's heart seemed to skip a beat, and a grin spread across her face. She watched him as he approached the table, studying the way his hair fell into his face, the familiar shape of his broad shoulders, the suave smile that he always seemed to wear. As he slid into the booth, Locket had a sense that there was something just right about the two of them. She wondered if this was how those fairytale characters felt when with their "true love".

"Hey yourself, handsome," she responded with a smile, toying with the edge of a menu.
