Description:
Trance is thin and pale, mostly do to the fact that she's constantly dressed in clothes that cover her skin. She mainly wears her favorite red sweater, which is bulgy on her because it belonged to her mother, who was much taller than she. She also wears a white turtleneck shirt with a black four-point star on it, and black skinny jeans that hug her ankles. Her converse sneakers and white gloves seal off the rest of her skin, so that if she accidentally touches someone she is not likely to use her powers on them. Trance has a heart-shaped face, and bit, inquisitive golden eyes that have no pupil. This makes her look odd to most people, so she often wears her hood up so it shadows her face. Her hair is long and a bright red color. She cuts it herself, so it's usually not very stylish, but it's naturally wavy so that makes up for her poor haircutting skills. Trance is well developed, despite being only 5'4" tall, with long, slim fingers and a thin waist. She looks pretty fragile, but actually she's surprisingly strong for her small stature.
Abilities/Talents:
Trance can, by touching someone's skin, see their past, present, or future. She can see the people they've met, the ones they have yet to meet, the places they've been, the places they're going, the places they will go to. Her control over this power is minimal at best, so she tries not to touch people to avoid seeing things she shouldn't, especially because her powers sometimes go out of control and she actually steals things from people's minds, like phone numbers and sometimes even memories. She is also able to see death before it happens without touching people--heightened moments of fate tend to have that effect on her. Her powers often leave people in a "trance," hence the nickname.
Personality:
Trance is quiet and contemplative. She doesn't like to talk, or interact with people much at all because of her powers. She's a good person to ask for advice from, though, because she is very understanding and knowledgable about the world, even for being so young. Trance is smart and equally agile, so she's hard to track down and even harder to pin down. While she may seem unfriendly to some people, in reality Trance is very affectionate and caring. She hates her powers because they often get her into trouble, but she'd rather try to change what she sees than allow terrible things to happen to other people. Trance values life very much, and she is very willing to put aside her own safety to help others. Her biggest fault is that she's a bit too prone to trusting people, and rarely sees the reasons not to trust them because she tries not to use her powers if she can help it.
History:
Lillian Tamara Stormbrook was born in Denver, Colorado. Ever since she was a little girl, she knew she was different. Her powers came to her when she was only six, and at first she did not realize they made her different. Her parents, who were strict religious types, thought that she was being possessed by a demon and locked her up in the dark for a long time. She only ever got to go out to be beaten by "exorcists" and forced to repent to priests. She did not understand why everyone, even her parents, hated her so much. She grew up in isolation until she was twelve. Then she escaped and realized when she saw the mutant propaganda that she was, in fact, a mutant, and not an evil demon like her parents had always said. This fact made her a more positive person, despite her past circumstances. She quickly learned to avoid people wherever she could, and made her way in the world ever since. She has never been captured, though she's had close calls. Trance actually really loves traveling, so she has spent the last five years wandering across the states, seeing all sorts of amazing sights. While no one has ever seen her and remembered what she looked like (thanks to her powers), there are plenty of rumors about her and what she can do, so she has to be careful not to give herself away.
