Description:
Shadow is a sturdily built girl with a small jaw and pale skin. Her eyes are tear-shaped and grey-blue in color. She often outlines them in eyeliner, but that's the only makeup she really bothers with, since her eyelashes are naturally thick and she has a natural flush to her cheeks. Shadow's hair is black, but whether it's dyed or naturally so is not generally known. Shadow has a long, slightly arched nose, and thin small lips. She is 5' 8" in height, and wears a size 9 shoe. She mostly wears a black tang top and tan cargo shorts and black Etnies shoes accented with leopard print. She doesn't wear much jewelry. The only accessories she ever wears are a plain silver necklace with a cross that has two little wings attaching it to the chain, and a pair of feather clamp earrings.

Abilities/Talents:
Shadow has the ability to create a dark substance that blends in with shadows (which is why they are mislabeled as such) that she can solidify or thin at will. This substance takes whatever shape Shadow wishes it to. She can also transform into her "shadow" substance, allowing her to fly, pass through solid objects, and spy on people with ease. Her power is very hard to detect, and she often passes unnoticed even by Mind-reading mutants.

Personality:
Shadow is quiet and mysterious. She doesn't like to talk about herself, or her past. She's not very sociable, and prefers to keep to herself. This makes her invaluable as a Scout, since she doesn't mind the lonely search for other mutants, away from Squad and home sweet hideout. Shadow is smart and sometimes sarcastic, though she prefers to remain the silent force in the room. When she speaks, she usually says something worth listening to, and although she would deny it, Shadow has a very good sense of humor, and often says very witty things. She's very loyal and compassionate deep down. However, she does not mind using her powers for violence if it means protecting someone she loves.

History:
Shadow and her sister, River, were born in Minnesota, to two very different parents. Their father was a Mind-reading mutant that decided to live in hiding, and their mother was a sweet-tempered normal human who knew about her husband's abilities but loved him still. As the girls grew, it became apparent that Leila had abilities. Her sister (whose birth name is Samantha), seemed perfectly normal. Leila's father helped her master her power, while Sam seemed to only want to spend time with their mother. When the girls were ten, Sam's power suddenly emerged in the worst possible way - in public. The police began seeking out their family. Their parents were captured by Hunters, leaving the two girls to flee together. Leila tried very hard to help her sister control her power, but Sam did not have the luxury of slowly learning, and hers was difficult to subdue. They were on the brink of capture when a mutant Scout found them and brought them back to the Order. There, Sam began to learn how to control her power, and Leila began training to become a Scout so that she could save other mutants from the fear she and her sister had to suffer.
