Description:
River is a sturdy, pale-skinned girl. Her hair is dyed black with white-blonde highlights. Her cat-shaped eyes are a vibrant blue, and almost always surrounded by a thick application of eyeliner. River has a long arched nose, and pale thick lips. She has a heart-shaped face, with a defined jaw and slightly big ears. She likes to switch up her wardrobe, but is most often seen in black T-shirts with short or medium-length sleeves and dark-tinted jeans that usually have holes in them. Her favorite shoes are black flats with silver stripes and a big buckle across the front. She doesn't wear any jewelry, except for a thin black leather strap she uses as a bracelet around her wrist.
Abilities/Talents:
River has the ability to control density - the density of objects, particles, even people. She uses this ability to climb air, cause any blows by objects or fists to be even more damaging, and to sink through walls or go about unnoticed. Many think that she would make a good scout, but River prefers to use her powers to help comrades in battle. River also has an offensive move in which she solidifies air and shoves it at her enemies (quite like the Invisible Woman's force fields).
Personality:
River is a bit shy, but she's generally very friendly and loyal. She, like her sister, does not like to talk about her past, but she's always willing to listen to other's struggles and help them with a silent ear or advice. Although she is young, River is emotionally very mature, and has a good about of knowledge concerning the world. She is constantly searching for some way to help someone, and her tender heart often presents problems in battle, so she prefers to work as a defender or an aide instead of a fighter, which is why she trains as a Skirmisher. River enjoys life, and likes nothing more than a good swim and some girl talk with her sister and friends.
History:
River and her sister, Shadow, were born in Minnesota, to two very different parents. Their father was a Mind-reading mutant that decided to live in hiding, and their mother was a sweet-tempered normal human who knew about her husband's abilities but loved him still. As the girls grew, it became apparent that Leila (Shadow) had abilities, while Sam seemed perfectly normal. Sam's father helped her sister master her power, while Sam seemed to only want to spend time with her mother, learning how to knit, cook, clean, and especially how to draw. When the girls were ten, Sam's power suddenly emerged in the worst possible way - in public. The police began seeking out their family. Their parents were captured by Hunters, leaving the two girls to flee together. Leila tried very hard to help her sister control her power, but Sam did not have the luxury of slowly learning, and hers was difficult to subdue. They were on the brink of capture when a mutant Scout found them and brought them back to the Order. There, Sam began to learn how to control her power, and Leila began training to become a Scout. Since then, Sam has almost fully mastered her power, and is working to be assigned to a Squad.
