Name: Acacia (Pronounced “ah-kay-sha”) Bane
Mutant Name: Falling Star
Age: Immortal (Her body is about 18)
Gender: Female
Species: Mutant
Ranking/Position: Fighter
Loyalties: Rebellion
Description:
Falling Star is thin and very pale. Even so, she has a lot of strength. She has long inky black hair that is shorter in the front and longer in the back. Her eyes are a clear blue, but she has something like sparkling dust always coming out of her left eye. Acacia has three butterflies and a star on her shoulder, but whether they are tattoos or otherwise she doesn’t say. Falling Star, or Star as she’s usually called, has very thin, sad-looking eyes that hold a lot of wisdom in their depths for someone who looks so young. She always wears a plain iron necklace in the shape of a cross. In her Other Form, she is very muscular and has pure white fur with thin black stripes. Her eyes glow bright blue, and blue flames seem to flicker off her shoulders, the back of her neck, her tail, and her flanks. She has huge pure white claws and dangerous teeth that are quite functional.
Abilities:
Star has the ability to transform herself into a white tigress. She has the power of cold flame, also known as Star-tails, which she can shoot out of her mouth or can release from her skin. She can use her star flame both to fly and cut away at earth/stone/you name it. She can fly as a human, as well, but the other powers require her to be in her tiger-form. She can fight quite like a tiger when in that form, with tooth and claws. Star also has the ability to speak to cats, whether in tiger form or not.
Personality:
Falling Star is very serious and mature. She rarely jokes, and when she does, it usually is very humorless and sarcastic. Star has seen so much death, she isn’t afraid of seeing more. However, blood can sometimes make her skittish, so she prefers to fight in tiger-form, when her animal senses can take over for a while. She’s generally very reliable, but she can be annoying, since she rarely puts up with other’s complaining and immaturity. She’s a bit of a loner, but is enjoyable company when she grows attached. Since she doesn’t age, Star is very cautious about friendships though, so it’s not easy to get close to her. In the end, though, she is an undying friend, and more loyal than any creature could hope to be. She’s a bit stubborn at times, and has a temper problem, but altogether she’s the cool cucumber of the mutant rebellion, always keeping her wits about her.
History:
Acacia was born in the late 1700’s. She was thought to be the product of witchcraft, since her mother was a lonely spinster and had, to the villagers’ knowledge, no relationship with any man. Acacia’s eye, which began to glow mysteriously when she turned two, seemed like a perfect piece of evidence. Her mother managed to smuggle her away into the forest before the villagers captured her and performed one of their “witch trials”. Acacia, who was surprisingly intelligent for being only two years old, managed to follow her mother using some of her keen senses. She watched as her mother was burned at the stake, her mind numbed by the cruelty of the villagers. Her power awoke then, at such a young age, and she went on a rampage, killing all of the villagers almost completely by accident. Realizing the evil act that she committed, Acacia ran far away and began searching for answers. Her body seemed to mature very quickly, and by the time she was four, she looked almost ten and was much more intelligent. She had been living off prey in her tiger-form and sleeping in woods almost completely naked when a priest found her. He brought her home and clothed her, giving her good food and a warm bed for the first time since she could remember. The priest did not ask any questions about her strange eye, or her past. He accepted her, and began to teach her about God, and how God loved her, as well. Acacia became devoutly religious, and was very happy when Father Richard gave her a necklace for her birthday (she was turning eight, but she looked almost fourteen by this time). The villagers that Father Richard cared for seemed suspicious of Acacia, but they never said anything against their priest. One day, soldiers came looking for the star-eyed girl that possessed strange wisdom. They believed she was possessed by demons and were going to take her to trial. Father Richard tried to stop them, despite Acacia’s pleas to just let her go. The soldiers imprisoned him with her. In the night, she allowed her tiger-form to return, and managed to break the bars of her cell with her Star-tails. She freed Father Richard, as well, and led him to a safe place. They were sad to have to part, but it was necessary for the Father’s safety. Acacia spent many years wandering after that. She traveled most of the world, disguising her eye by covering it with a patch. She joined the X-Men for a time, believing their cause to be just, but in the end she left before they were disbanded. When the rebellion arose, Acacia decided that she would no longer run away from trouble. She joined the rebellion in hopes of bringing justice for mutantkind.
