Shade felt his face heat up when her lips came into contact with his cheek. He felt his heart speed up in his chest at their closeness. His yellow gaze was drawn into her grey-blue one. Everything around them seemed to melt away, his world became narrowed to her, the noise of the game room temporarily forgotten.

Shadow smiled slightly as he looked at her, a small blush coloring his cheeks. He was so cute. She had never thought that she'd be in this position, so she was rather surprised at how natural it felt.
"So?" She prompted quietly, her eyes sparkling a challenge, "Don't you have a secret for me?" She asked teasingly.

Shade was so lost in the moment, that he barely registered the question. "Of course" he replied, a small smirk on his face. He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. He pulled back, feeling his cheeks heat up even more.

Shadow blushed at the feeling of his lips on her cheek. She tried to focus on the chess game again, but her thoughts were muddled and it was difficult to concentrate.
"Check." She said as she moved her bishop, shrugging her shoulders with a shy smile playing at the corners of her mouth.

Shade thought the blush on her cheeks was adorable. He noticed that she had put him in check, and didn't know what to do. His thoughts were scrambled, most of them focused on his girlfriend. He deciding on moving a knight, getting himself out of check.

Shadow moved her rook into position, getting ready for checkmate.
"Check." She said again, knowing that his options were okay for now, but that as soon as she moved her queen it would be very difficult for him to make the correct move to avoid defeat. Shadow smiled slightly at her thought process. Even with her confused thoughts she was still able to play with impressive strategy.

Shade stared at the board, at a complete loss of what to do. He decided on moving his bishop a few spaces. He hoped that it would buy him some more time. If I didn't think that Shadow would be extremely upset, I would've 'accidently' knocked the pieces over he thought to himself.

Shadow smiled slightly. She'd expected him to move his bishop. Taking her queen, she moved her over and made sure that no pieces could take her before setting her down.
"Check." She said, knowing that most of the moves Shade would probably try would lead to checkmate.

Shade had went into the game, knowing that he was going to lose. He sighed and moved one of his pawns. He knew that whatever move he made would end up in his loss, so he didn't put much thought into his move.

Shadow smiled as she moved her bishop.
"Checkmate," she said gleefully. Although she was very good, she rarely had the chance to practice her skills, since no one liked losing to her every time. So it was always gratifying when she got to win. Smiling at Shade, she shrugged.

Shade smiled at the happiness in her voice. "Great game" he said, looking down at the board. He saw how easily she had him blocked and mentally sighed. He didn't really like playing chess, he was never any good at it, but he'd play all the time if Shadow wanted to.

Shadow smiled.
"Now that the air hockey table is open, want to play that? I'm sure you'll have a much higher chance of beating me." She said with a playful glint in her eye. She'd pretty much forgotten her anger at him. She had no capacity to be angry.

"Let's play" he said, getting up from his chair. He reached out and linked his hand with Shadow's, waiting for her to follow him to the table. "I'm not going easy on you though" he said.

Shadow smiled, curling her fingers around Shade's hand.
"I wouldn't ask you to." She said, a glint of mischief shining in her grey-blue eyes. Walking over to the hockey table, she took her place on one end, picking up one of the red stoppers and examining it closely.

Shade let Shadow over to the table. He broke the contact between them reluctantly and moved to take his place on the opposite end of the table. "Good luck" he said as he turned on the table. The table immediately whirred to life as the puck skated across the surface.
